Main Events

Into the Pixel Exhibit
Making its way from past E3's (and this year's) back to the LA Convention Center, Into the Pixel will be featured on-site and open to the public for all four days of E for All. "[S]elected by a panel of jurors from a field of submissions gleaned from artists around the world," according to ITP's homepage, the exhibit will put its 16-piece 2007 collection on display, which includes works inspired by Team Fortress 2, Lair, Fable 2, Viva Piñata, and Half-Life 2 Episode 2. Each are produced by artists working within the industry as a way of showcasing their talent, and the unique art of games, in a new context. The 2007 collection can be viewed online here.

Video Games Live performs a segment from "Beyond Good & Evil" during a concert last year. The orchestral series will be play next door to the convention center at the Nokia Theatre Friday, October 19.

Video Games Live Concert
Tommy Tallarico's touring troupe will perform during the third day of E for All (Friday, October 19) just across the street from the LA Convention Center, at the 7000-seat Nokia Theatre. The concert series, which debuted the summer of 2005, employs a full orchestra (the LA Philharmonic, in this case) and choir to recreate music from well-loved series like Final Fantasy, Tetris, Metal Gear Solid, World of Warcraft, Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania, Myst and more.

According to an E for All press release, "Advance ticket-holders to E for All currently have access to a reserved VIP section and an exciting meet and greet following the performance." The concert isn't covered by the cost of basic admission, in other words, but having the opportunity to meet with game music composers could be appealing for many. General ticket sales for the concert began June 1, and more information can be found at http://www.videogameslive.com/.

Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, shown here at E3 '06, will be on hand as a competitor and to represent his brand of gaming products.

The World Series of Video Games
Capping off its competitive season at E for All, the WSVG will show attendees how it's done in four digital arenas on the exhibition floor, awarding more than $90,000 in prizes. Games featured will include World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Guitar Hero II, Fight Night Round 3 and Activision's Call of Duty 2. Gamers will have a chance to view the tournaments-in-progress, and IDG has confirmed that heavyweight Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel will be on hand during the event for various competitive and non-competitive activities. On Saturday Wendel will deliver a keynote speech titled "Competitive Gaming - From Basement to Big Time," according to IDG, which will focus "on the growth of E-Sports and its future." Wendel will also participate in "game exhibitions and shootouts," and be available for meet-and-greets at his booth on the convention center floor.

It's unclear the level of participation attendees will have in scheduled tournaments and other competitions, but we'd expect the WSVG to include gamers to some extent. The World Series of Video Games website can be examined here, and Fatal1ty's homepage is found here.
