EA Sets Madden '09 Release Date

Madden will ship Aug 12, along with a desperate attempt to trick gamers into buying NFL Head Coach.

The only certain things in life are death, taxes and a new Madden football game every August from EA Sports. Madden 09 will hit stores Aug.12 on the PS3, PS2, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.

Electronic Arts did not announce pricing for stand alone versions, but did reveal a $90 "Collector's Edition" that will be the only way to get NFL Head Coach 09. Gamers will be able to transfer plays designed in the strategy football game to Madden. The 20th anniversary collector's edition will also come with extra video features and classic versions of the game.
