Call of Duty 3

To accomplish this seemingly impossible task, you’ll be forced to survive battle after battle, dodging grenades, bullets and an assortment of other difficult missions that include rescuing hostages, planting bombs, etc. Honestly, you’re not going to find the overall stories of each soldier particularly engaging and the mission structure has certainly not evolved much from previous iterations. However, those faithful fans who continue to play each subsequent offering can’t seem to get enough of Activision’s spin on WWII games.

Don’t “tread” on me... please.

In the online arena, Call of Duty 3 offers a solid multiplayer experience, but there aren’t a lot of multiplayer game modes to choose from. The game modes which are included though should satiate fans of the series, as Call of Duty 2 has done for owners of the Xbox 360. SIXAXIS support is also included, most notably for melee attacks in close quarter combat.

Stay crouched and you just might live one more day.

While Resistance: Fall of Man will enjoy the lions share of marketing and publicity this November, shooter fans would be doing themselves a disservice by not picking up Activision’s latest offering. Top notch graphics, immersive game play and sound all add up to another solid, but not revolutionary first person shooter.

Review by Michael Harris.

Highs
Excellent graphics and textures; booming sounds effects and music; solid experience in single and multiplayer modes.

Lows
Occasional dips in the frame rate; lack of diversity in multiplayer modes; a few bugs that should have been caught in the QA review.

Final Verdict
The quality that we have come to expect from this series is still evident. While not the most polished launch title, it certainly deserves a place on your gaming shelf this November.
