The expansive environments are just as powerful as the cars’ in the visual presentation. Buildings stand out with realistic high-res textures. The street contains every little grain of asphalt. You almost expect to feel the rumble of the road as you race across it. Though the world’s damage is not as extensive as the vehicles, it is still impressive to bring an office complex down with a well placed rocket to make a path or trap an enemy. Lighting is well done throughout with just enough Bloom to make the world of Full Auto 2 look alive without giving it that plastic feel that some next-gen games have.
Some of the weapons are just plain fun.
Full Auto 2 provides a fun experience in a sorely limited library for Sony’s Playstation 3. It is an interesting take on a genre that is constantly done, and much of the time without any polish. The game has been tweaked and redesigned to shine like a next-gen game should. The only issue is that once you near the end, you may find the objectives tedious. There is an online component allowing you to race or war it out in an Arena over the PSN, but good luck finding opponents as the online world of Full Auto 2 is as barren as the post-apocalyptic world itself. This one is probably best as a rental, unless you're a fan of the genre.
Now that is fully loaded!
Highs
Superb visuals; great level of polish; fun for a while.
Lows
Generic techno soundtrack that succeeds in moving the game forward, but feels tacked on; limited choices to play online.
Final Verdict
Unless you're a fan of the genre, this one is probably best enjoyed as a rental.
